Land Use Plan

The Land Use Plan (LUP) was published by the National Trust in 2001, and covers land for which The National Trust, English Heritage, The Highways Agency and Wiltshire County Council have a management responsibility.

One of the LUP's key objectives is to set out proposals for the conversion of ploughed land near the Stone Circle to grassland. This action will help protect the archaeology from damage, improve the landscape setting of the monuments and enhance the wildlife interest. The Plan also seeks to improve public access to the wider landscape, increasing visitor understanding and enjoyment of the area.

The LUP is available to download from this website, or on CDrom (with full technical appendices) from the National Trust. A four page Summary introducing the aims and objectives of the Plan is also available.
